Atkinson, NH
Memorial Day Parade
When: Monday, May 27, 2024 at 10 a.m.
Parade route: Starts at Town Hall and goes to to Academy Avenue, left on to Leroy Avenue and right on Main Street and proceeds to the Atkinson Town Dow Common where a Memorial Day ceremony will take place.

Memorial Day Hometown Parade
When: Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 1 p.m.
Parade route: Parade starts at Bedford High School’s driveway, goes down to County Road and up to Liberty Hill Road, and ends at McKelvie Intermediate School.

FYI: Please plan to arrive by 10:30 a.m. Seating is limited and attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair. The ceremony normally runs for one hour.

Memorial Day Parade
When: Monday, May 27, 2024 at 8:30 a.m.
Parade route: The parade will start at the Christ the King Church parking lot on Thorndike Street, take a left onto South Main Street and head down Main Street, taking a left onto Park Street. The parade will then go up Park Street, take a left turn onto North State Street, and then take another left turn onto Capitol Street, circling back to the City Plaza where there will be a brief ceremony.

Dover’s Woodman Museum
Memorial Day Celebration
When: Monday, May 27, 2024 at 11 a.m.
All are invited to the Civil War Veteran Ceremony Monument in Pine Hill Cemetery for a ceremony honoring all of Dover’s veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of their country. This year’s service will be specially dedicated to the lives of Capt. Jack Casey and Capt. Ann Darby Reynolds of Dover. The ceremony will include a presentation of colors and addresses by local veterans and the executive director.

Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony

Parade route: The parade begins at Yankee Publishing’s parking lot and proceeds to the cemetery for a short ceremony and then returns to the village center for a closing ceremony.

There will be a Remembrance Ceremony at Memorial Park on Main Street to pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to serve and protect our country. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. on Main Street with special guest speakers, musical tributes, laying of the wreath at Memorial Park and more.

When: Sunday, May 26, 2024 at 9 a.m.
The Parade kicks off at Sandown Road Bridge with a tribute and proceeds down Main Street to the collect all of your youth marchers at Spaulding Road. Children, bicycles, Scouts, sports teams, etc should all park at the Spaulding Road lot and join the parade at Spaulding Road and Main Street. The Parade then proceeds to Village Cemetery, where the ceremony will take place.

Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade
Ceremony: Friday, May 24, 2024 at 11 a.m.
The annual Wreath-Laying Ceremony will be held in Prescott Park by the anchor sculpture. The ceremony includes a performance of patriotic music by the Portsmouth Middle School Ensemble and a wreath-laying on the Piscataqua River to honor those service members lost at sea.
Parade: Monday, May 27, 2024 at 1 p.m.
Memorial Day Parade steps off on Parrott Ave. and pauses at South Cemetery for a brief ceremony. The parade route travels from Parrott Avenue to Pleasant Street to Market Square, and then down Congress St. to Middle St. to Richards Ave. where the route crosses South Street to the cemetery. After the ceremony, the parade continues along South St. to Junkins Ave. and concludes on Parrott Ave.
